Overview
Rust-Oleum 4900 Multi-Surface PU Heavy-Duty Varnish is a clear water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat. Use as a parquet varnish, a dust-binding sealer on concrete, an anti-graffiti coat, or a clear topcoat to change gloss on existing paint. This SKU is the 1 L gloss kit (491001). The matt kit is 491003. Not suitable on bare outdoor wood or on plastics / imitation wood.
- Manufacturer SKU/model 491001.KIT.1. 1 L kit. Mix base : activator 2.04 : 0.46 by volume (4:1 by weight). Induction 5 minutes. Pot life 3 hours. Do not mix part units.
- Touch dry 2 hours; handle 8 hours; recoat 4 hours; fully cured 3 days (20°C / 50% RH). Do not wash for 3 days.
- DFT 20 µm (about 20 m²/l vertical) or 30 µm (about 13.5 m²/l horizontal). Density 1.06 g/cm³. Solids 40% by volume. Gloss about 80% at 60°. VOC 25 g/l.
- Air 10 - 35°C; RH below 85%. Three coats on new wood/concrete (first coat +10% water); two coats on previously varnished surfaces. Short-nap mohair roller or brush with the grain.
- Contains isocyanates - follow EU 2020/1149 training rules. Taber CS17 / 1000 cycles: 17 mg weight loss.
